That’s pretty much everybody’s prediction. Realtor.com says that more Buyers will be able to navigate better…Maybe. Edward Jones Co predicts a total economic rebound…Maybe. Rate expects homebuyer confidence to rise the entire year…Maybe. Huntington expects inflation to rise to 3.5%-4%…Maybe. Homes.com plans on slightly higher home prices and slightly lower mortgage rates…Maybe.
Your Team Fallico sees the market balancing between Sellers and Buyers. Mortgage rates will dip below 6% on average. There are always Buyers but there haven’t been enough Sellers. This will begin to change right away, in the first quarter. It’s easy for us to predict that the number of home sales/closings will rise after 2025, the lowest # in 30+ years. What is not easy to tell is exactly WHEN during the year mortgage rates will come down and, subsequently, supply will begin to increase. So we safely say that this will happen in 2026.
Here’s a fun forecast for you: The Dunn Edwards paint company believes that these colors will be popular in 2026: six pastels named Eagle’s View, Country Air, Gypsum Rose, Sonoma Chardonnay, Gothic Revival Green and Antique Coin. The plan? To evoke nature, harmony, and a desire for quiet joy. It sounds like a lovely 2026
